They are native to Distrito Federal, Ceará, ParaíBa, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso Do Sul, SãO Paulo, Maranhao, Cerrado, Bahia, U.S. Virgin Islands, Acre (Brazil), Pernambuco, Espirito Santo, The Contiguous United States, GoiáS, Pará, Roraima, Pantanal, Alagoas, Amazônia, Piauí, Rio De Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Mata Atlântica, Rio Grande Do Sul, Puerto Rico, Santa Catarina, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Paraná, and Caatinga. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 2 m.
