Description

Robust terrestrial, semi-saprophytic herb, 25-40 cm tall, often forming small colonies. Leaves small, up to 6 cm long, brown. Inflorescence laxly to fairly densely many-flowered on a yellowish stem with 4-5 overlapping basal sheaths. Flowers often arising at various angles, not opening wide, pleasantly scented. Sepals more or less erect and somewhat spreading, brownish or greenish tinged purple. Petals yellow-green or whitish tinged purple-brown, overlying the column. Lip white with purple veins, 11-16 mm long, 3-lobed in the apical third; midlobe obovate-oblong with 3 ridges of papillae; margin very wavy. Spur stout, 3-8 mm long, swollen at the tip, straight or decurved.
