They are native to Caatinga, Santa Catarina, Pernambuco, Mata Atlântica, Canada, The Contiguous United States, Paraná, Rio Grande Do Sul, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Piauí, Rio De Janeiro, North America, Pampa, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, U.S. Virgin Islands, Ceará, SãO Paulo, Bahia, Alagoas, Espirito Santo, and Hawaii. They have simple, broad leaves and green flowers. Beaked Tasselweed form sea grass beds. Individuals can grow to 0.2 m.
