2010.04.20 Vienna XI./Schwechat (brownlands, 170 m ASML).Growing under some
Robinia pseudoacacia (I'll try and check if those stems in the background are of Robinia or not; the siliquae you can see in the top half of the image however definitely
is of Robinia pseudoacacia). Also, there's
Muscari neglectum (more likely planted/run wild than a natural occurrence) and
Isatis tinctoria (native to this habitat).German name: Fdige Palmlilie (or incorrectly: 'Winter-Agave')ID: provisional (hybrid); see also discussion (in German) at
naturbeobachtung_at (Christine Berg); the plant is a native of Northern America (East Coast), it cannot reproduce in Europe by itself as it is only pollinated by Pronuba moths (which aren't native here). For this reason it is clear that those must have been planted; and as the place is rather 'wild' and not groomed it is likely that this one once was a so-called Schrebergarten - an allotment garden which was abandoned years ago.
