Shrubs or small trees with simple indumentum. Leaves alternate, simple. Inflorescences unisexual or bisexual, axillary. Male flowers: calyx closed in bud, valvate; petals 0; stamens numerous. Female flowers: sepals 5-6; petals 0; styles 3, connate at base. Fruits 3-lobed. Seeds spherical.
