Xylopia frutescens (Pimientillo) is a species of tree in the family Annonaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Rio De Janeiro, Espirito Santo, Amapá, AmazôNia, Mata Atlântica, Minas Gerais, Maranhao, Pernambuco, Bahia, Roraima, Cerrado, GoiáS, Ceará, Pará, RondôNia, Mato Grosso, and ParaíBa. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 17 m.
