M 24-25 mm. F 33 mm. Tibiotarsal articulation reaches at least between eye and nostril and sometimes beyond snout tip. Hand with some webbing, foot webbing 1(0), 2i(0), 2e(0), 3i(1), 3e(0-0.5), 4i/e(1), 5(0). Dorsal skin smooth. Dorsally green, sometimes with traces of yellow dorsolateral lines, and always with numerous, evenly spaced small red dots. Tips of fingers and toes reddish, especially in females. Outer iris area turquoise to blue, iris periphery blue. Boophis erythrodactylus est une espèce d'amphibiens de la famille des Mantellidae[1].

Répartition

Cette espèce est endémique de Madagascar. Elle se rencontre entre 1 000 et 1 100 m d'altitude dans quelques localités du centre-Est de l'île[1],[2].

Description

Boophis erythrodactylus mesure de 24 à 25 mm pour les mâles, et jusqu'à 33 mm pour les femelles. Son dos est vert brillant avec de nombreuses petites taches rouges cerclées de jaune. Une ligne jaune part du naseau pour aller jusqu'à l'œil. Une deuxième ligne part de l'œil, passe au-dessus du tympan pour rejoindre l'arrière de l'épaule. De chaque côté du dos, un bourrelet parcourt toute la longueur. Les sourcils sont jaunes avec des taches brunes. Certains spécimens présentent des taches brunes sur les membres et autour des naseaux. Le ventre est vert bleuté léger. La peau est finement granuleuse chez les mâles et lisse chez les femelles.

Étymologie

Son nom d'espèce, du grec erythros, « rouge », et dactylos, « doigt », lui a été donné en référence à la couleur de ses orteils.

Boophis erythrodactylus (Guibé, 1953) è una rana della famiglia Mantellidae, endemica del Madagascar.[2]

Descrizione

Boophis erythrodactylus è una rana di piccole dimensioni (24–25 mm per i maschi, e fino a 33 mm per le femmine). Il dorso è di colore verde brillante con numerose piccole macchie rosse bordate di giallo. Una linea gialla si dirige dalla narice verso l'occhio. Una seconda linea dall'occhio, passa sopra il timpano per raggiungere la parte posteriore della spalla. Alcuni esemplari hanno macchie scure sugli arti e attorno alle narici. Le punte delle dita e dei piedi sono rossastre, soprattutto nelle femmine. Il ventre è bluastro. La pelle è finemente granulosa nei maschi e liscia nelle femmine.[3]

Distribuzione e habitat

La specie è presente in diverse località del Madagascar centro-orientale, tra cui il parco nazionale di Andasibe-Mantadia e il parco nazionale di Ranomafana, e in un'unica località ad ovest, nella regione di Morafenobe.[1]

Vive nella foresta pluviale tra 1000 e 1100 m di altitudine.

Biologia

Il maschio emette il suo richiamo durante la notte, da postazioni collocate nella vegetazione in prossimità dei corsi d'acqua, a 1–3 m di altezza.[3]

Il canto di richiamo consiste di una serie da 4 a 14 click emessi in rapida successione.[4]

Herpetologie

Boophis erythrodactylus is een kikker uit de familie gouden kikkers (Mantellidae). De soort werd voor het eerst wetenschappelijk beschreven door Jean Marius René Guibé in 1953. De soort behoort tot het geslacht Boophis.[2] De soortaanduiding erythrodactylus betekent vrij vertaald 'rode tenen'.

Leefgebied

De kikker is endemisch in Madagaskar.[3] De soort komt voor in het oosten van het eiland, zo ook in de subtropische bossen van Madagaskar en leeft op een hoogte van 1000 tot 1100 meter boven zeeniveau.

Beschrijving

Mannetjes hebben een lente van 24 tot 25 millimeter en vrouwtjes hebben een lente tot de 33 millimeter. De rug is groen met rode, geel omcirkelde vlekjes. De buik is lichtgroen en de huid is korrelig bij mannetjes en glad bij vrouwtjes.
