Hypoxis hirsuta (Common Goldstar) is a species of perennial herb in the family Hypoxidaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves, yellow flowers, and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Distichona auriceps, Sargus viridis, Meromyza americana, and Chalcosyrphus nemorum. Individuals can grow to 0.8 feet.
