Description: English: There are a lot of smaller hairs hidden in the normal hairs of a armyworm and they have no follicle. The length of these smaller hairs is about 0,05 to 0,2 mm. Many micro-spines were found on the trunck of each small hair in which there are plenty of venom. When a armyworm feels to be threatened, it can eject the smaller hairs to its enemy. This weapon of armyworm is very dangerous, even to human. If the samll hairs come into eyes, they can not be removed. These hairs are autofluorescent. Date: 25 November 2015. Source: Own work.
