Description: English: Introduced warm-season perennial tufted sedge, with a very short rhizome and 3-sided stems 25–90 cm tall. Leaves are to as long as the stems and 4–8 mm wide. Flowerheads are simple to decompound, with up to 12 primary branches to 12 cm long; digitate clusters are 10–50 mm diam. Spikelets are flattened, numerous per cluster, to 30-flowered and 5–15 mm long. Glumes are greenish to white or straw-coloured, tinged yellowish or red-brown. Mostly flowering from spring to autumn.
