Description:
Description: English: Pinus edulis, the state tree of New Mexico, is common to the Taos area. Perhaps most similar to the Mexican Pinus cembroides in having mostly 2 (3) needles per fascicle, the leaves of Pinus edulis are over 1 mm in width. This region that descends in elevation from Taos to Española transitions out of the expanses of sagebrush steppe and is essentially devoid of Bromus tectorum. This site lies along highway 68 just to the southwest of Taos, Taos County, New Mexico, about where the highway and the Rio Grande meet. Date: 28 December 2016, 10:28:40.
