This species is clearly distinguishable from others in the possession of 1) truncated caudal extremity, 2) nearly straight pectoral margin, 3) stand-up collared or V-shaped occipital margin, 4) a pair of knoblike projections at the antero-lateral corner, 5) central position of the widest & highest parts, 6) depressed, oblique occipital margin, 7) upward posterior portion like Pompholyx and 8) stocky body.
Lorica finely stippled, more or less cylindrical and obtusely pointed posteriorly. Many of the animals carried eggs 62 µm long attached by a nipple. Lorica made of two plates dorsal and ventral. The dorsal plate is round.

Anuraeopsis fissa is een soort in de taxonomische indeling van de raderdieren (Rotifera).
Het dier behoort tot het geslacht Anuraeopsis en behoort tot de familie Brachionidae. De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort werd voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1851 door Gosse.
