Gymnopus eatonae Murrill, sp. nov

Pileus convex, not fully expanding, not umbonate, gregarious, 1-2 cm. broad; surface smooth, dry, glabrous, whitish tinged with rose-color, dull-white on the disk, not fading in herbarium specimens, margin rose-tinted, incurved when young: lamellae adnate, crowded, narrow, white: spores ellipsoid, smooth, hyaline, 6-6.5 yc ^-?> .5 ij.: stipe tough, subequal, smooth, glabrous, whitish, tinged with rose-color except at the base, 2-2.5 cm. long, about 2 mm. thick.
Type collected on a lawn with Marasmius caryophylleus in the New York Botanical Garden,' October 2, 1911, Mary E. Eaton (herb. N. Y. Bot. Gard.). Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
