Micranthes californica (Greene) Small

Leaves spreading or ascending, 3-11 cm. long, the blades mainly oblong to ovate, crenate or merely sinuate-denticulate, more or less pubescent on both sides, ciliolate, paler beneath than above, abruptly or gradually narrowed into petiole-like bases of various lengths ; scapes solitary or sparingly tufted, 15-40 cm. tall, glandular-pubescent throughout but often less densely so below, green, or purple near the base, loosely branched above; cymules open, few-flowered, at least relatively so, the pedicels slender; sepals ovate, sometimes ciliolate, reflexed, 1.5-2 mm. long; petals white, oblong to suborbicular , 3.5-5 mm. long, often notched at the apex, mainly rounded at the base; filaments subulate, often as long as the sepals or longer; follicles 3-3.5 mm. high, purple or purpletinged, the short beaks spreading at maturity.

Micranthes californica (syn: Saxifraga californica), known by the common name California saxifrage,[1] is a species of flowering plants.
It is native to much of California west and north of the desert regions, as well as adjacent sections of southern Oregon and northern Baja California. It grows in many types of moist habitat from the coast to the mountains.
Description
Micranthes californica is a perennial herb producing a small gray-green basal rosette of thick toothed oval leaves up to 10 centimeters long.
The inflorescence arises on a peduncle up to 35 centimeters tall bearing clusters of flowers, sometimes all on one side. Each flower has five green to reddish sepals, five small white petals, and ten stamens at the center.
