Afroqueta is a genus of flowering plants belonging to Turneroideae (Passifloraceae).[1] It is a monotypic group, consisting of Afroqueta capensis (Harv.) Thulin & Razafim. Afroqueta capensis was originally designated as Piriqueta capensis, phylogenetic analysis of Turneroideae suggested A. capensis was closer related to other African members of the subfamily.[2] It is a perennial subshrub native to the tropical southern regions of Zimbabwe to KwaZulu-Natal.[3] Its flowers are described as heterostylous and yellow. Afroqueta, jedan od dva novija roda iz porodice trubanjovki (Passifloraceae) kojemu pripada samo jedna vrsta, Afroqueta capensis, koju je prvi puta opisao William Henry Harvey 1862. godine pod imenom Turnera capensis[1], nakon čega ju je Ignatz Urban 1883. klasificirao u rod Piriqueta[2], da bi je tek 2012. Thulin i Razafimandimbison smjestili u samostalan rod Afroqueta.
Raste najviše na sjevertoitoku Južnoafričke Republike ,ali i u Svazilandu, Mozambiku, Bocvani i Zimbabveu[3].
