Acaulescent ; flowering branches scapiform, naked, glandular-puberulent or slightly hirsute below, 3-5 dm. high, slender; petioles 4-12 cm. long, more or less hirsute; leafblades reniform or rounded-cordate, with 7-9 rounded lobes and broadly ovate, mucronate teeth, glabrous above, more or less hairy on the veins beneath and ciliate on the margins, 2-6 cm. in diameter; inflorescence long and narrow, glandular-puberulent; hypanthium turbinate-campanulate, glandular-puberulent, short-pedicelled, yellowish, together with the rounded-ovate ascending sepals 3-4 mm. long ; petals spatulate, almost clawless, barely equaling the sepals.
Type locality : New Mexico.
Distribution : Mountains of New Mexico and Arizona.
