Cephalotes angustus is a species of arboreal ant of the genus Cephalotes, characterized by an odd shaped head and the ability to "parachute" by steering their fall if they drop off of the tree they're on. Giving their name also as gliding ants.[1][2]

Cephalotes angustus est une espèce de fourmis arboricoles du genre Cephalotes, caractérisée par une tête surdimensionnée et plate ainsi que des pattes plus plates et plus larges que ses cousines terrestres. On la trouve plus particulièrement dans le Sud des États-Unis et au Paraguay[2].

Cephalotes angustus is een mierensoort uit de onderfamilie van de Myrmicinae.[1][2] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1862 door Mayr.
