This genus created by Tyzzer, (1930) for a species found in the cecum of the ruffed grouse, Bonasa umbellus, has the same features as Cochlosoma, except the lateral groove does not reach the posterior end, which is rounded and without a protruding axostyle. This genus has been put in synonymy with Cochlosoma under the name C. striatum Tyzzer by Kulda and Nohynkovà (1978) but not by Grassà (1952). Type species: Cyathosoma striatum Tyzzer, 1930.
