Predicting life expectancy using telomere length ( Inglês )

fornecido por EOL authors

Seychelles warblers were ideal subjects for studies of life expectancy because they live their lives on an island without predators so are most likely to die of age-related causes. Researchers have looked at variation in telomere length (the tips of chromosomes) and the rate of shortening of telomeres and found that they predict individual life expectancy.
