Mikadotrochus salmianus, common name the Salmiana slit shell, is a species of large sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Pleurotomariidae, the slit snails.[3]
The shell is broadly trochiform, almost conical in shape. The shell is false umbilicus and spirally twisted on all sides. The shell is off-white in color with blazed red spirals. It is almost exactly conical with a broken or flattened tip. It is surrounded on all sides with furrows or traces of growth.[5]
This species occurs in the Pacific Ocean off Japan, Fiji Islands and the Philippines.

Mikadotrochus salmianus (Rolle, 1899) é uma espécie de molusco gastrópode marinho da família Pleurotomariidae, nativa do oeste do oceano Pacífico.[2]
Mikadotrochus salmianus possui uma concha em forma de cone com até 12 centímetros. Fenda lateral, típica de Pleurotomariidae, curta e bem demarcada quando preenchida pelas voltas anteriores. Relevo de estrias em espiral, atravessadas por finas linhas de crescimento. A coloração é creme esbranquiçada, ou alaranjada, com manchas avermelhadas em padrões característicos na base de cada volta.[2][1]
São encontrados no oeste do oceano Pacífico (Filipinas ao Japão).[2]
