Stem stout, glabrous, rather densely prickly, climbing. Leaves glabrous; petioles and rachis slender and prickly; petioles 2.4 cm. long; pinnae about 5 pairs; leaflets 10-15 pairs, linear, 6-7 mm. long, membranous, obtuse, mucronulate, delicately reticdlate-veined beneath, obscurely veined above; peduncles very short, only 8-12 mm. long, unarmed or prickly, pilose; legume subterete, very densely prickly, 6-10 cm. long, about 5 mm. thick, its beak 7-12 mm. ong.
Type locality: Magdalena River, Colombia. Distribution: Panama; Colombia.
