Characterized by light tan body color with row of five horizontally elongate black spots along middle of side; presence of row of smaller dark spots along lower side of body; nape, back and upper caudal peduncle with six brown saddles; joined pelvic fins, relatively long , extends beyond anal fin; rounded caudal fin; longitudinal scale series 23-25; absence of scales on nape, cheek, opercle, breast and anterior body; numerous, elongate, fleshy barbels and flaps on head; depth of body 5.6-6.3 in SL (Ref. 90102).

第1背鰭：Ⅵ；第二背鰭：I / 9；胸鰭：19~20。縱列鱗
23~25；背鰭前鱗0。鰓條數 5。總脊椎骨數26 (腹椎數9,
尾椎數17)；腹鰭相連癒合形成一大個吸盤狀，且末端延長超過臀鰭起點。頰部圓凸，密布指狀短鬚。口中大；齒小且尖，齒板窄，上、下頜齒式各約為3列。鰓孔寬適當，延伸至胸鰭基部。前鰓蓋骨上有三個感覺孔。體被櫛鱗，頭部、項部、胸部、胸鰭基底及腹部中央均無鱗。尾鰭長圓形，長度適中，稍小於頭長。體呈淺黃色，體背側具5個寬大馬鞍狀褐斑，各斑塊具黑色外緣。頭部及體側散具大小不等的黑斑。眼下方具1個黑斑。各鰭淺黃而透明，胸鰭基部上方具1個大型黑斑，其餘各鰭無明顯斑點。(林上智、林沛立編寫

Barbuligobius boehlkei és una espècie de peix de la família dels gòbids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.
Morfologia
Hàbitat
És un peix marí, de clima tropical i demersal que viu entre 5-12 m de fondària.[4][6]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a Austràlia, Chagos, Indonèsia, el Japó (incloent-hi les Illes Ryukyu), Sud-àfrica i Taiwan.[7][8][9][10][11][12][13]
Observacions
És inofensiu per als humans.[4]

Barbuligobius boehlkei, the Cryptic bearded goby, is a species of goby native to the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean where it can be found on sand-rubble substrates at depths of from 1 to 15 metres (3.3 to 49.2 ft). This species grows to a length of 2 centimetres (0.79 in) SL. This species is the only known member of its genus. Its specific name honours James E. Böhlke (1930-1982) of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia.

Los machos pueden llegar alcanzar los 2 cm de longitud total.[1][2]
Hábitat
Es un pez de mar y de clima tropical y demersal que vive entre 5-12 m de profundidad.
Distribución geográfica
Se encuentra en Australia, Chagos, Indonesia, el Japón (incluyendo las islas Ryukyu), Sudáfrica y Taiwán.
Observaciones

Vissen Barbuligobius boehlkei is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van grondels (Gobiidae).[2] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1974 door Lachner & McKinney.
De soort staat op de Rode Lijst van de IUCN als niet bedreigd, beoordelingsjaar 2009.[1]
