The black-backed thrush or New Britain thrush (Zoothera talaseae) is a species of bird in the family Turdidae. It is endemic to Papua New Guinea where it occurs on the islands of New Britain, Umboi and Bougainville. Its natural habitats are temperate, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

Some authorities considered one of the two subspecies recognised, the Bougainville thrush (Z. t. atrigena), as a separate species as Zoothera atrigena.

El zorzal de Nueva Bretaña (Zoothera talaseae)^[2]​ es una especie de ave paseriforme en la familia Turdidae.

Distribución y hábitat

Es endémica del este de Papúa Nueva Guinea, habita en las islas Nueva Bretaña, Umboi y isla Bougainville. Sus hábitats naturales son los bosques húmedos tropicales isleños.

Levinneisyys

Melanesiankirjorastasta tavataan Papua-Uusi-Guineassa Uuden-Britanniann ja Umboin saarilla. BirdLife International luokitteli 2016 sen Bougainvillessä elävän atrigena-alalajin omaksi lajikseen Zoothera atrigena.^[3] Melanesiankirjorastas on luokiteltu elinvoimaiseksi, koska sen kanta on vakaa eikä sillä ole tunnustettavia uhkia.^[1]

Vogels

De bismarckgoudlijster (Zoothera talaseae) is een zangvogel uit de familie Turdidae (lijsters). De vogel werd in 1925 geldig beschreven door Lionel Walter Rothschild en Ernst Hartert. De in 1982 als ondersoort beschreven zogenaamde "bougainvillegoudlijster" (Zoothera talaseae atrigena) wordt door de IUCN als aparte soort beschouwd.

Verspreiding en leefgebied

Deze soort telt 2 ondersoorten:

• Z. t. talaseae: Nieuw-Brittannië (Bismarck-archipel).
• Z. t. atrigena: Bougainville (de noordelijke Salomonseilanden).

Status

De status niet bedreigd op de Rode lijst van de IUCN geldt alleen voor de nominaat Z. t. talaseae

Svartryggig trast^[2] (Zoothera talaseae) är en fågel i familjen trastar inom ordningen tättingar.^[3] Den delas in i två underarter:^[3]

• Z. t. talaseae – förekommer på Niu Briten
• Z. t. atrigena – förekommer på Bougainville i norra Salomonöarna

Underarten atrigena urskiljs ibland som egen art, "bougainvilletrast".^[4] Sedan 2016 hotkategoriseras de båda taxonen var för sig, talaseae som livskraftig och atrigena som nära hotad.^[1]
