Zoothera Vigors 1832

Zoothera is 'n genus van voëls wat aan die familie van lysters (Turdidae) behoort. Die genus omvat ongeveer 15 spesies van medium-groot insekvretende en omivoriese voëls.^[1]

Molekulêr-genetiese navorsing het getoon dat spesies wat vroeër aan die genus behoort het nie 'n gemeenskaplike voorouer kon hê nie. Die nie-passende spesies is toe na 'n nuwe genus, Geokichla oorgeplaas.^[2]

Zoothera és un gènere d'aus de la família dels túrdids (Turdidae). Aquests tords i grives són ocells de mida mitjana que habiten principalment a zones tropicals d'Àsia, fins melanèsia i Austràlia, però que també arriben a la taigà eurasiàtica.

Taxonomia

La classificació del gènere Zoothera ha patit canvis durant els darrers anys, passant moltes espècies des d'aquest gènere fins Geokichla.^[1]

Die Erddrosseln (Zoothera) sind eine Gattung mittelgroßer, meist insektenfressender oder allesfressender Singvögel aus der Familie der Drosseln (Turdidae). Die Gattung ist vornehmlich in Asien und dem australasiatischen Raum verbreitet. Die meisten Arten sind Bodenbrüter und suchen ihre Nahrung auf dem Boden. Die afrikanischen Formen, die Halsbanddrossel und die Aztekendrossel der neuen Welt, die traditionell dieser Gattung zugeordnet werden, sind nicht näher mit den asiatischen Arten der Gattung Zoothera verwandt und bilden eigene Gattungen wie Ixoreus (Halsbanddrossel) und Ridgwayia (Aztekendrossel).^[1] Zahlreiche ehemalige afrikanische Zoothera-Arten sowie die Schieferdrossel (Geokichla sibirica) stehen gegenwärtig in der Gattung Geokichla.

The Asian thrushes are medium-sized mostly insectivorous or omnivorous birds in the genus Zoothera of the thrush family, Turdidae. The genus name Zoothera comes from the Ancient Greek zoon, "animal" and theras, "hunter".^[1]

Two New World species traditionally regarded as Zoothera (varied thrush and Aztec thrush) actually belong elsewhere in the thrush family. A group containing Siberian thrush and the African species is not closely related to the other Zoothera and are now assigned to the genus Geokichla.

Zoothera es un género de aves paseriformes perteneciente a la familia Turdidae. Los miembros del género se encuentran principalmente en Asia y Australasia. Raibie zemesstrazdi (Zoothera) ir mežastrazdu dzimtas (Turdidae) dziedātājputnu ģints, kas apvieno 20 mūsdienās dzīvojošas sugas un vienu izmirušu sugu.^[1] Šīs ģints sugas ir vidēji lieli strazdi, kas ir kukaiņēdaji vai visēdāji. Visas raibo zemesstrazdu sugas mājo Āzijā.^[2] Latvijā līdz šim tikai vienu reizi novērota viena suga — raibais zemesstrazds (Zoothera aurea).^[1][3]

Sistemātikas izmaiņas

Pēdējos gados, balstoties uz ģenētiskajiem pētījumiem, raibo zemesstrazdu ģints sistemātika ir ievērojami mainījusies. No tās izdalīta liela daļa zemesstrazdu sugu, kas apvienotas zemesstrazdu ģintī (Geokichla).^[4][5] Toties daudzbalsu mežastrazds (Ixoreus naevius) izdalīts monotipiskā daudzbalsu mežastrazdu ģintī (Ixoreus)^[6] un acteku strazds (Ridgwayia pinicola) monotipiskā acteku strazdu ģintī (Ridgwayia).^[7]

Vairākas pasugas mūsdienās izdalītas kā atsevišķas sugas. Piemēram, Krievijas Eiropas daļā dzīvojošais raibais zemesstrazds mūsdienās tiek sistematizēts kā atsevišķa suga — Zoothera aurea.^[1][8]

Vogels

Zoothera is een geslacht van vogels uit de familie van de lijsters (Turdidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van het geslacht is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1932 door Vigors.

Taxonomie

Uit moleculair-genetisch onderzoek bleek dat de soorten die vroeger in dit geslacht waren geplaatst, geen gemeenschappelijke voorouder konden hebben. De soorten die nu in het geslacht Geokichla zijn geplaatst, waren veel minder verwant aan de soorten uit Zoothera.^[1] Sinds 2012 is deze splitsing verwerkt op de IOC World Bird List ^[2]

Voorkomen

Soorten uit het geslacht Zoothera hebben een verspreiding in het Euraziatische en Australaziatische deel van de wereld. De soorten die nu in het geslacht Geokichla zijn ingedeeld, komen daar ook voor en hebben tevens vertegenwoordigers in Afrika.

• Zoothera: gr. ζωον zōon „zwierzę”; -θηρας -thēras „-łowca”, od θηραω thēraō „polować”, od θηρ thēr, θηρος thēros „bestia, zwierzę”^[8].
• Andromedon: epitet gatunkowy Myiothera andromedae Temminck, 1826; w mitologii greckiej Andromeda, była córką etiopskiego króla Cefeusza i Kasjopei i została wystawiona na pożarcie potworowi morskiemu z powodu arogancji matki, ale uratował ją Perseusz, który potem ją poślubił^[9]. Gatunek typowy: Myiothera andromedae Temminck, 1826.
• Cichlopasser: gr. κιχλη kikhlē „drozd”; łac. passer, passeris „wróbel”^[10]. Gatunek typowy: Turdus terrestris von Kittlitz, 1830.
• Aegithocichla: gr. αιγιθος aigithos „nieznany ptak”, różnie identyfikowany; κιχλη kikhlē „drozd”^[11]. Gatunek typowy: Turdus terrestris von Kittlitz, 1830.

Zoothera är ett släkte med medelstora trastar (Turdidae). Flertalet är insektsätare eller allätare. DNA-studier visar att de arter som traditionellt placerats i släktet inte är varandras närmaste släktingar. En stor andel av arterna har därför lyfts ut till egna släkten. Arterna i Zoothera i mer begränsad mening förekommer alla i Asien och australiska regionen. En art, geomalia, har förts till släktet från att tidigare ha placerats i det egna Geomalia.
