Neoplatypedia constricta is known from Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, and Utah, where it occurs in the California upland forests and woodlands habitat, Pacific Northwest forests, forests of the Rocky Mountains, and intermountain woodlands. It has been associated with sagebrush (Artemisia spp.) and rubber rabbitbush (Ericameria nauseosa). (Sanborn & Phillips 2013).
