Description: Cataetyx laticeps is the largest teleost found below 2000 m in the Mediterranean. It has an elongate body and a dorsoventrally flattened head, with dorsal and anal fins confluent with the caudal fin. They were apparently utilizing the structure of the BOP as shelter.
