Gorytes ist eine Gattung der Grabwespen (Spheciformes) aus der Familie Crabronidae. Es sind 55 Arten bekannt, von denen 34 in der Paläarktis vorkommen.[1] In Europa sind 17 Arten verbreitet,[2] in Mitteleuropa sind es vermutlich 10.[1]
Merkmale
Wie auch bei der ähnlichen Gattung Argogorytes besitzen viele Arten der Gattung durch den gelb gebänderten Hinterleib das Aussehen von Solitären Faltenwespen (Eumeninae). Unterscheiden kann man die beiden Gruppen durch die Flügelfaltungsmethode, die bei den Grabwespen nicht in Längsrichtung erfolgt. Die Artbestimmung ist meistens schwierig.[1]
Lebensweise
Die Weibchen legen ihre Nester einzeln oder in Gemeinschaft an. Sie reichen etwa 12 Zentimeter tief in den Boden und beinhalten bis zu vier Zellen. Die Brut wird mit Imagines und Nymphen von Zikaden der Familien der Zwergzikaden (Cicadellidae), Fulgoridae, Blutzikaden (Cercropidae) und Buckelzirpen (Membracidae) versorgt. Je nach Größe werden vier bis 19 Zikaden pro Zelle eingebracht. Fliegt das Weibchen aus, wird der Nesteingang immer verschlossen. Die Beute wird im Flug transportiert und dabei vor allem mit dem mittleren Beinpaar festgehalten. Die Eiablage erfolgt auf der Unterseite des Thorax des letzten Beutetiers in Längsrichtung. Die Larve schlüpft nach etwa vier Tagen.[1]
Die Grabwespen werden durch verschiedene Fleischfliegen (Sarcophagidae) und Nysson-Arten parasitiert.[1]

Голарктика, Афротропика. В Палеарктике более 50 видов. В Европе около 20 видов[1] Для СССР указывалось около 20 видов[2].
Описание
надпись
Среднего размера осы (8—15 мм). Тело чёрное с развитым жёлтым или белым рисунком, напоминают некоторых одиночных ос Eumeninae. Срединное поле промежуточного сегмента морщинистое. Ацетабулярный киль короткий. Мезоплевры с омалюсами и стернаулюсами. У самок 1-й членик передней лапки с 2 щетинками на боковой поверхности. Медиальная жилка заднего крыла начинается перед концом субмедиальной ячейки. Гнездятся в земле. Личинок кормят мелкими цикадками (Cicadellidae, Cercopidae, Fulgoridae, Membracidae). Среди их естественных врагов есть паразитоиды из рода ос Nysson[2][3][4][5].
Систематика
Более 70 рецентных видов и 1 ископаемый (первоначально описанный как Hoplisus archoryctes Cockerell, 1922)[6]. Относится к трибе Bembicini.
