Spongipellis substuppeus (Berk. & Cooke) Murrill
PoJyporiis substuppeus Berk. & Cooke, Jour. Linn. Soc. 15: 380. 1877.
Pileus simple or imbricate, dimidiate, umbonate-sessile or broadly attached, decurrent, 3-4X4-7X0.3-0.8 cm.; surface floccose, substuppeous, spongy, azonate, pale-ochraceous to discolored; margin thin, entire, easily discolored: context soft, fibrous-spongy, white to discolored, 1-3 mm. thick ; tubes 2-4 mm. long, white to pal e-latericeous within, mouths large, irregular, angular, radially elongate at times, 1-3 to a mm., edges thin, dentate, white to umbrinous : spores globose, smooth, hyaline, 5-7 ju ; hyphae 1 ^ ; cystidia none.
Type locality : Brazil. Habitat : On dead wood. Distribution : Cuba ; also in Brazil.
