Polyura nepenthes is an uncommon species in Hong Kong. Caterpillars feed on Archidendron lucidum and Ventilago leiocarpa. Wingspan ranges from 70 to 90mm. They occur from April to October.

Polyura nepenthes is a butterfly in the family Nymphalidae.[2] It was described by Henley Grose-Smith in 1883. It is found in the Indomalayan realm.[3]

Subspecies

  • P. n. nepenthes (Burma, Thailand, Indo-China, southern China, Hainan)
  • P. n. kiangsiensis (Rousseau-Decelle, 1938) (China: Kiangsi, Zhejiang)

Biology

The larva feeds on Leguminosae.
