Brief Summary ( Inglês )

fornecido por Harmful Phytoplankton Project
Lynn & Gilron (1993) reported a ciliate from Jamaica which they considered to be Strombidium dalum based on the size of the cell, the number of oral polykinetids and the position and shape of the macronucleus (Fig 8). However, this ciliate may be a new species, since it was found in tropical waters and does not show the torch-like shape of the cilia of the APZ which is a characteristic feature for S. dalum. Therefore, we only include the original description in this data sheet.
