Galium trifidum es una especie de planta herbácea perennifolia de la familia de las rubiáceas. Es nativa del norte y oeste de Norteamérica, desde Alaska y Canadá hasta México, donde crece en hábitats húmedos.
Es una hierba perenne, por lo general formando una maraña de tallos delgados de hasta medio metro de largo rodeados de espirales de hojas ovaladas a lineales. La inflorescencia es un racimo de pequeñas flores blancas o rosadas.
Galium trifidum fue descrita por Carlos Linneo y publicado en Species Plantarum 1: 105–106, en el año 1753.[1][2]
Galium: nombre genérico que deriva de la palabra griega gala que significa "leche", en alusión al hecho de que algunas especies fueron utilizadas para cuajar la leche.[3] trifidum: epíteto latíno que significa "con tres divisiones".[4]

Багаторічні трав'янисті рослини заввишки 5–25 см. Стебла тонкі, 4-куті, грубі на дотик. Листки зазвичай розміщені по 4 в мутовках. Пластини лінійно-ланцетні, з округлими вершинами без щетинок, з цілими волохатими краями. Квіти розміщені в пазушних парасольках по 1–3 квітів. Квіти: віночки в формі колеса, білі, прибл. 1 мм шириною, 3-лопатеві; чашечки відсутні; тичинок 3, пиляки жовті. Плоди 2-дольні, глянцеві, плодолистики майже кулясті.
Азія (Росія, Китай, Японія, Казахстан, Туреччина); Європа (Австрія, Ліхтенштейн, Естонія, Фінляндія, Франція, Іспанія, Ісландія, Латвія, Литва, Норвегія, Польща, Швеція, Україна); Північна Америка (Гренландія, Канада, США). Населяє гідротехнічні луки, болота, багно навесні, канави, іноді сухі луки на схилах пагорбів, узбіччя й газони.
В Україні зростає на торф'яних і осокових болотах, берегами — в Поліссі й Лівобережному лісостепу[2].
