Description: This has eked out a living half crushed between and beneath large Rhododendrons for some years now and yet every year it produces at least a few flowers and this year, possibly because I did some cutting back in the area, it has done very well indeed. I must try some cuttings. Once again the yellow is a little washed out by the camera. It's quite a rich golden hue in life. Date: 18 March 2011, 09:21. Source: Daphne jezoensis?. Description: Doing very nicely thank you, among the Rhododendrons. This is one of several yellow flowered Daphne species but jezoensis is the only wintergreen (summer deciduous) species I'm aware of. Description: I'm not actually totally certain of the id in this case. Jezoensis is usually remarked upon for being a winter-green species - making its leaves in the autumn and losing them in summer. This one produces leaves sporadically through the winter and then loses them in a haphazard sort of way in late summer. There are several yellow-flowered Chinese Daphne so I'm wondering.
