Nor did it prevent it from being one of the things that Louis Armstrong misses in his great hit, "Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans?" Beginning in the 1950s and continuing into the 1990s the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) planted this species along the dividers of every freeway where it stood a chance of surviving. En Aragn se ha citado como cultivada en algunas localidades de la Depresin del Ebro y puntos del Prepirineo, en donde debe ser protegida en invierno. En 2008 se ha comprobado su presencia como planta asilvestrada junto al ro Cinca, en la localidad de El Grado (Hu).Hbitat: Es planta caracteristica de ramblas en reas termfilas prximas al litoral. En Aragn unicamente se encuentra cultivada en algunos pueblos en reas bajas, donde no sobrevive los inviernos si no se la protege.Preferencia edfica: Indiferente Rango altitudinal: 40- 950 mFloracin: Mayo - Septiembre Forma Biolgica: Nanofanerfito Extractado del Atlas de la Flora de Aragn (Herbario de Jaca)
