I was walking the dog and almost bumped into this moth (
Idia americalis) on a Redcedar tree. I took several shots using natural light--something I almost never get to do with moths. (I did put a handkerchief up for a little reflector as I got close.) Its posture was odd--wings flat against the bark, but legs extended to prop it up away from the bark at its head. I'm guessing this is somehow more cryptic than a flat-against-the-bark pose.
