Sebastes flammeus és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels sebàstids i a l'ordre dels escorpeniformes.[4]
Descripció
Fa 50 cm de llargària màxima[5] i, morfològicament parlant, és similar a Sebastes aleutianus i Sebastes melanostictus.[6]
Reproducció
És de fecundació interna[7] i vivípar.[8]
Alimentació
El seu nivell tròfic és de 3,1.[9]
Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica
És un peix marí i batidemersal (entre 300 i 500 m de fondària),[5] el qual viu al Pacífic[5] nord-occidental: el nord del Japó,[10][5][2][11][12][13] incloent-hi els monts submarins Milwaukee,[14] Kimmei i Koko.[15][16][17][3][18][19]
Observacions
És inofensiu per als humans[18] i el seu índex de vulnerabilitat és d'alt a molt alt (69 de 100)[20]
