The holotype of this species was collected off Isla del Rey (Centroid Latitude: 8.1083, Centroid Longitude:-78.8500), Pearl Islands, Gulf of Panama, Panama, eastern Pacific, by the R. V. Albatross, from a depth of 60 m.
