Inflorescences terminal and axillary. Bracts and bracteoles present. Flowers bisexual, actinomorphic or zygomorphic. Sepals 5. Petals 5, often unguiculate. Stamens 10. Ovary superior, (2-)3(-5)-locular. Fruit (in ours) winged.
