Ginkgo biloba листопадно је дрво и једини представник истоименог раздела (Ginkgophyta). Гинко је листопадно дрво високо до 40 m, разгранато са густом круном пирамидалног облика. Листови су лепезасти, обично са два режња (билоба). English: Ginkgo biloba, known as ginkgo or gingko and also as the maidenhair tree, is the only living species in the division Ginkgophyta, all others being extinct. Ginkgos are large trees, normally reaching a height of 40m, with some specimens in China being over 50 m. The tree has an angular crown and long, somewhat erratic branches, and is usually deep rooted and resistant to wind and snow damage.
