Diceroprocta apache is known from Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah (U.S.A.) and adjacent Mexico (Sanborn & Phillips 2013).

Diceroprocta apache is found in the Sonoran desert in riparian habitats e.g., following river systems into Nevada and Utah from Arizona and California. It has been associated with Fremont cottonwood (Populus fremontii) and Goodding willow (Salix gooddingii Ball), introduced tamarix (Tamarix chinensis Loureiro), Baccharis spp., Acacia spp., velvet mesquite (Prosopis velutina), undetermined mesquite (Prosopis spp.), and palo verde (Cercidium spp.).
