Test oval. Pseudostome: antero-ventral, 10 to 20 µm across with flared rim. Shell surface smooth, composed of overlapping flattish mineral particles, held together by organic cement. Ecology: marine interstitial, common. Type species Centropyxiella arenaria Valkanov, 1970.
