This was walking (not in December) on a neighbor's yucca plant, which was in bloom. There were more of the same kind of insect on the same plant. I assume that it's a Hemipteran (true bug) but don't know anything else. Any help in identification would be appreciated. Treegrow (see comment below) tells us that this is Leptoglossus phyllopus. One common name is Florida leaf-footed bug. Thanks, Treegrow!
