Haplochromis mylodon Greenwood 1973

Mouthbrooding by females.

Found near the shoreline over mud and mud-sand substrates (Ref. 4983). Feeds mainly on gastropods, particularly Melanoides tuberculata. Chironomid larvae are also eaten (Ref. 558).
