Colonies. On Czapek agar, spreading, 31 mm diam. after 7 days at 25°C, grass green to dark green, diffusible pigmentation and grayish red to reddish brown reverse; exudate colourless; at 40°C growth slightly enhanced (36 mm diam.) with orange yellow reverse; sectors formed either at 25°C or 40°C; hülle cells up to 35 μm diam. Conidiophores. Short mostly 20-70 μm long. Conidia 2.5-4.5 μm. Ascomata. Cleistothecial, small. 100 μm diam., rarely up to 180 μm diam. Ascospores 4-4.5 μm.
