Hesperia sassacus is a year-round resident of the northeastern United States (Scott 1986). Habitats are woodland meadows. Host plants are grass species, mostly Andropogon scoparius, Festuca obtusa, Digitaria sanguinalis, Panicum, Danthonia spicata. There is one flight each year with the approximate flight time June 1-July 15 in the northern part of the range and May 15-June 15 in the southern part of their range (Scott 1986).
