Hydrozoans

One of the jelly fish collected from the deep Arcitic Canada Basin. The original image was taken by Kevin Raskoff of Monterey Peninsula College, and now graces this Canadian stamp.

Hydra. One of the freshwater coelenterates (metazoa), this species has symbiotic green algae. Dark ground illumination.

The cnidaria had grown up on the corrosion crust of a steel mesh guard over an on-site preflooder.  Sample froman on-site preflooder on the island of Hiddensee south of the village Kloster. Images were taken using Olympus stereo microscope with Olympus C7070 CCD camera.

A cluster of 'organisms'., but they are joined together through a common stalk that runs over the surface of the Potamogeton stalk.
