Meadow Grasses

One of the commonest plants fo the world, growing in natural and disturbed places.

Poa bulbosa is an extremely common plant in the whole of Europe and Asia. It has often a special inflorescence (see pic) that produces plantlets instead of seeds.

Its difficult to photograpg grasses with a busy greenish background. This is where a shady back can hekp. Poa nemoralis is a rare perennial grass occurring in Israel only in the northern Golan Heights.

Poa sinaica is a common perennial grass in the Negev and Sinai deserts.
