Notes: This is one of the water-colour drawings made by Georg Forster during James Cook's second voyage to the Pacific in 1772-1775. The watercolour is listed by Sharpe 1906, p.184 and by Lysaght 1959 p. 288 as Plate 67. This is the number written on the right-hand side of the watercolour. The NHM lists this watercolour as Plate 66. This picture was used by John Latham when describing the "Variegated goose".(Latham, 1785, p. 441).
