Description:
This is a seedling of Sorbus torminalis, a European species that reaches its southernmost border in Mt Hermon. The trees in Mt Hermon were grazed for years and did not bloom. Since the area was declared as a nature reserve, grazing was dramatically cut down, the trees grew, and recently flowered and fruited. Its the first time we see seedlings. Its nice to see the two cotyledons (the first leaves) that are very different form the rest of the leaves.
