Description:
Colchicum ritchii is a common desert bulb in Jordan, Israel and North Africa. It blooms in mid-winter with leaves. Its habitat varies from sands to loessial plains. In Israel it is rather common and protected. at the base of the perianth lobes in the centre of the flower you can see tiny white hairs that are typical for this species.
