Description:
Very few wild trees of this endangered species exist in south Kona, on the Big Island. Of the 26 species of Pritchardia, which exists only in the tropical Pacific, 23 are endemic to the Hawaiian Islands. A few key features of this species include the pendulous leaf segment apices, woody cortex of trunk,and larger fruit than the similar species P. affinis.
